OUR VISION
Our vision is a world where every BIPOC individual not only has access to quality mental health resources but also feels seen, heard, and valued.
Jonathan Brown Mental Health Foundation envisions a future where mental health disparities are eliminated, and the community is empowered to thrive emotionally, socially, and economically.
Through advocacy, education, and collaborative partnerships, we aspire to contribute to a society that prioritizes mental health equity, embraces diversity, and celebrates the strength and resilience of the BIPOC community.
THE SOLUTION
Our strategy to enhance mental health support for BIPOC communities involves direct outreach to shelters and support groups, providing resources and assistance in navigating mental health services. We're also partnering with behavioral facilities to engage individuals receiving mental health care. To alleviate financial burdens, we're establishing aid programs covering costs like psychiatrist appointments and medications. Locally, we're organizing fundraising events, including community walks and charity dinners, and collaborating with businesses that prioritize mental health.
I am proud to have a relationship with Serenity Mental Health Centers. Through this partnership, I am raising funds to provide vouchers for mental health services at Serenity. This initiative aims to ensure that individuals in our community can access the mental health support they need. Additionally, I plan to expand the foundation's focus to include veterans, addressing their unique mental health needs and supporting their well-being.
We're planning fundraising parties at local businesses to generate support and funds for mental health initiatives. Through comprehensive outreach, financial assistance, community engagement, and advocacy efforts, we aim to create a supportive environment. By regularly monitoring and evaluating our initiatives, we'll adapt and improve our plan based on the evolving needs of BIPOC individuals seeking mental health support.
